task 03 my own design

  1. This is my own design of a shoe box that is recycled and has a secondary purpose.
My design is a shoe box converted into a tool box where the purpose is to store tools like hammers, nails, spirit levels etc, therefore the dimesions would of this would be large. There's rope attached on both opposite sides so that you can carry it anywhere you want. The stands that the tools rest on would be attached on rope so you would see the rope knotted at the back. The shoe and box and the stands would be made out of corrugated cardboard because they are firm and wont break easily, so they would be able to hold the tools that is resting in tool shaped holes. The idea is to cut a tool shaped hole onto the stands so that they fit in without them moving losely all over the place if you ever move the whole box somewhere.

  2. An interesting idea - although I wonder how many tools it will hold as hammers are pretty heavy (I'll assume you aren't into DIY!) may be better for things like nails, screws and raw plugs which are a bit lighter and need containing otherwise they end up all over the garage!

  3. Rhys - some interesting initial ideas here.. Yes, tend to agree with Nicole to some extent - it'll be dependent on the strength of materials used whether the second use is successful. Some good thinking though and ideas which you may even develop further with your ideas for the main brief maybe.. If anything some more annotation on the drgs would have helped me understand the idea a little more and some examples of ref links followed etc..
